This film was inspired by various aspects within Japanese culture and was a large team effort. The film follows the story told to a child of a samurai unwilling to spend downtime with his master and heed his word to rest. The disobedience and stubbornness leads to grave consequences. Paper Samurai is a mix of both 2D and 3D with 2D animation done in TV Paint over 3D backgrounds created and rendered in Maya.
Paper Samurai was selected to screen at RIT SOFA's 2020 Honors Show.
